Alberta's Business Person of the Year
Alberta's Business Person of the Year award provides an opportunity to showcase the province's business achievements. The award is designed to identify and recognize individuals whoembrace principled leadership, strategic thinking, the unceasing pursuit of excellence and balanced workplace values..
The Business Person of the Year is featured in the December issue of Alberta Venture, and the award is presented at a special luncheon in January.

Alberta's Best Workplaces
Alberta Venture magazine is pleased to unveil its newest program–Alberta’s Best Workplaces.
Building upon Alberta’s current momentum and red hot economy, Alberta Venture will recognize those Alberta-based companies leading the way in corporate culture and human resource development.
Created specifically for and about Alberta’s workplaces, this program distinguishes itself with 12 recognition categories. Each category reflects a key area of interest for both employees and management.
Companies selected as one of Alberta’s Best Workplaces will be honoured as the province’s finest at an exclusive unveiling event taking place concurrently with the release of the March 2008 issue.

50 Most Influential People
These are the human forces shaping Alberta--from business to educational policy, health care, social causes and the arts. Energy kings, academics, activists and icons... they're all here.
These are individuals who have accomplished something which changes public perception or government policy or the business or social environment; have discovered or invented something significant; function as a representative of their industry through associations or public forum; made substantive philanthropic efforts; have acted as a crucial liaison between important people or groups; have taken their organization, company, or association to new heights and/or steered it clear from difficulty; have represented their community or the province on a provincial, national or international level; and/or have shaped the public's attitude in such a way as to have impacted the business community or economy.
The list of Alberta's 50 Most Influential People is published in the July/August issue of Alberta Venture .
In addition, a charity golf tournament is held annually in August in honour of these individuals.

They've got the moves, they've got the momentum. Alberta's Fastest Growing Companies are lunging ahead with a combination of solid management and a firm grasp of today's business environment. The list is divided into top performers under $20 million in revenue and those above $20 million.
