Defined by its agricultural heritage, the Municipal District of Foothills has maintained a robust sense of community for over a hundred years. Bordered on all sides by other farming communities, the people of Foothills have a fierce pride for Alberta agriculture. Brought together by the Millarville Racing and Agricultural Society – a group older than the province itself – grassroots businesses and community members remain tightly intertwined. The society hosts horse races, fairs, golf tournaments and a popular farmers market where local farmers, ranchers, orchard owners and craftspeople can sell their products.
