Alberta’s high-tech sector needs all the success stories it can get. No, that’s not because it doesn’t have any of them. It’s because, when you’re competing against the energy sector for capital and talent, you’ll take all the free advertising you can get. And Alice Reimer, the CEO of Evoco, is definitely a success story. After all, the company she co-founded in 1999, which provides web-based program management software, was bought by Austin-based Accruent last year. But it’s safe to assume Reimer isn’t going to cash out her chips and move to a golf resort any time soon. Reimer, who was ranked by PROFIT magazine as one of Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneurs in 2011, is still heavily involved in Calgary’s high-tech scene, and her experience, expertise and enthusiasm are key ingredients in her – and its – success.
